Our History

Founded in 2006, Monex Europe is a leading global provider of deliverable foreign exchange.

In July 2012, the Monex Group, one of the world’s largest deliverable currency providers, acquired Schneider Foreign Exchange to strengthen the company’s offering in the European market. Shortly after, Schneider Foreign Exchange was rebranded as Monex Europe Ltd.

Since its inception, Monex Europe has seen consecutive years of double-digit growth derived from organic business development. Its headcount has also grown 30% across the European business during the same period.

Executive Management Team

Monex Europe is headquartered in the heart of London’s financial district, with a second office adjacent to the Bank of Spain in Madrid and a third in the World Trade Centre in Amsterdam. The leadership team includes Managing Director, Nick Edgeley, and Directors: Mauricio Naranjo, Magda González, Shelton Fray, Will Tracey and Neil Burns.

Nicholas P. Edgeley Managing Director

Nicholas Edgeley is the Managing Director and a Co-Founder of Monex Europe Ltd. He serves as a member of the Monex Management Committee and board of directors.

Over the course of his 30 year career, he has held leadership positions within the Royal Marines, and going on to found a number of UK based financial services businesses. His primary focus is to manage the trade execution team at Monex Europe, as well as overseeing the development of the business as a whole. Mr. Edgeley is involved in a variety of non-profit activities primarily focused on healthcare.

William P. Tracey Sales Director

William Tracey is the Sales Director and a Co-Founder of Monex Europe Ltd. He serves as a member of the Monex Management Committee, Credit Committee and board of directors.

Over the course of his 20 year career he has held leadership positions within a number of financial institutions, prior to Co-Founding Monex Europe in 2006. As Sales Director, he is responsible for the expansion and evolution of the business across Europe and has developed the training programme which has allowed the business to grow rapidly in what is a highly competitive market.

Shelton L. Fray Systems & Compliance Director

Shelton Fray is the Systems Director and a Co-Founder of Monex Europe Ltd. He serves as a member of the Monex Management Committee, Client and Business Standards Committee and board of directors.

Over the course of his 22 year career, he founded a number of publications and online businesses prior to co-founding Monex Europe in 2006. As Systems & Compliance Director, he is responsible for the management of client data and development of internal systems. Mr. Fray is involved with a number of charitable organisations.

Neil D. Burns Operations Director

Neil Burns is the Operations Director of Monex Europe Ltd. He serves as a member of the Monex Management Committee, Risk Committee and board of directors.

Over the course of his 30 year career, he has founded a number of financial services businesses in the UK, and Joined Monex Europe in 2008. As Operations Director, he is responsible for the working environment and processes of the business along with the setting of budgets and management of the risk team.

Mauricio Naranjo Gonzalez CEO Monex Financial Group

Mauricio Naranjo is the CEO of the Monex Financial Group. He serves as a member of the Monex Management committee and board of directors.

Over the course of his career he has held research and investment positions within the Mexican Central Bank, as well as teaching positions at the Mexican Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM); lecturing in economics following his PhD from Berkeley. Mr. Naranjo has held a number of senior leadership positions within global financial institutions in North America, with responsibility for two continents.  His primary focus is to ensure the growth of the Monex group within all divisions, whilst focusing on new market development.

Magda G. González Chief Financial Officer

Magda González is the CFO of Monex Europe Ltd. She serves as a member of the Management Committee as well as the board of directors.

Over a career spanning 10 years within Monex she has held leadership positions in the strategic planning team, investor relations and finance. In total she has 20 years’ experience in the financial sector mostly in Central America. Magda has been involved in the acquisition processes of the Monex Group with the latest being Monex Europe. She has been the liaison officer for the Monex Group with responsibilities in both Mexico and the UK. Her primary focuses include the provision and assurance of financial information in the countries where the company has a presence. She holds an MBA from IPADE Business School, Mexico.
