Despite minimal volatility in the broad dollar index, this week showed some divergence in dollar pairs. Specifically, the Hungarian forint, Brazilian real, Antipodean currencies, and the Canadian dollar caught our eye. In the meantime, China’s economy expanded at a rapid clip, while UK inflation showed no end to the cost of living crisis. Next week, markets will pay the closest attention to European interest rates, with several Eurozone economies publishing inflation data, as well as monetary policy decisions in Sweden and Hungary.
